School Mission and Goals

Welcome to Ellis Elementary School! Ellis and the community in Sunnyvale have a long history and tradition of taking the lead in education in our area. This is a great period for renovations and revitalizations at our school, and we invite you to take some time and learn more about our different programs. Our school currently welcomes students from various countries around the world. Forty-three percent of our students are Latino or Hispanic, 27% are Asian, 18% are white and the rest of our populations have multiple responses. Our API scores this school year increased 50 points showing great academic performance improvements from our 2005 growth target. It is our school's goal to ensure that all of our students acquire skills and strategies to become lifelong learners and successful members of our competitive society. At Ellis, we provide a strong academic program that focuses on a holistic approach to education.
